After the ring, choosing a proposal location is one of the hardest decisions he'll have to make. A lot of research, time, and planning goes into this and then there is still the struggle of figuring out how to perfectly execute the special moment. There is no wrong place to pop the question, but if you're looking for something really unique, grab your passports!

This is a moment they'll remember for the rest of their life, the story you'll tell your kids one day, the start of forever, and personalizing how and when you propose is key. Here's how some of our favorite Long's couples got creative popping the question outside of the USA:

1) Pop The Question On A Picturesque Hike

Featured Proposal Location: Cliffs Of Moher, Ireland

If you're looking for the perfect backdrop for your proposal there's nothing better than a hike. After a lot of research, Terry found the perfect spot in Ireland's Emerald Isle to propose - on top of the Cliffs of Moher. This creative idea is a brilliant way to explore a new country with your S.O., and the breathtaking views set the stage perfectly for that life-changing moment.

2) Romantic Horseback Ride On the Beach

Featured Proposal Location: Aruba

Private horse ride to a secluded beach? Yes please! David & Jani's romantic proposal story is what fairy tales are made of. Working with a local horse-ranch in Aruba, David planned the romantic night perfectly. Upon arriving at the private beach, Jani dismounted her horse and turned to find David down on one knee. The romantic moment was followed by cheers and claps from the ranch staff that took photos for the happy couple. Make your beach proposal even more special by incorporating a special activity/location that will give the occasion that extra touch.

3) Turn Your Vacation Photo Shoot Into An Engagement Photo Shoot

Featured Proposal Location: The Dominican Republic

You've been thinking about this for a while now, and you've finally picked out the perfect engagement ring for her - now what? Take advantage of the vacation you and your S.O. already have in the books! Whether you're exploring an Island for the first time, or returning to one of your favorite getaways, a destination engagement allows you to get even more creative with your proposal!

One way to do this: Turn your vacation photo shoot into an engagement photo shoot like Chris and Sarah did on their trip to the Dominican Republic. This is a moment they've been dreaming of since they were little, and they'll be thrilled to already be camera-ready.

4) Pick A Memorable Spot

Featured Proposal Location: Bermuda

Creative Proposal Idea Pick A Memorable Spot

If you're returning to a destination that already holds a special place in your heart, this gives the proposal an extra personal touch that sets it apart from a more traditional candle-lit, rose petal engagement. Let the beautiful landscape of your getaway decide your proposal location or go back to a spot that has been meaningful in your relationship.

One way to do this is to find a private spot at a popular Island destination like Nick and Leah. Leah was completely surprised when she turned around to see Nick getting down on one knee on Horseshoe beach - a location she had already treasured for personal reasons from the past. Why propose at the Top Of The Hub when you can explore sandy pink Bermuda beaches and their romantic private coves?

4) Turn A Touristy Moment Into A Proposal

Featured Proposal Location: Pisa, Italy

Creative Proposal Idea Turn A Touristy Moment Into A Proposal

If you want to make sure the moment remains a surprise, take advantage of this creative idea that they'll never see coming! While exploring Pisa with Amber and her family, David turned a touristy picture into a magical moment pulling out the Long's little blue box in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. A touristy moment not only provides the perfect cover for a proposal but also the camera is already out in preparation. Plus, what better way to ask them to be your life partner than vacationing in Italy with family that they hold nearest and dearest?

5) Take In The View From Above

Featured Proposal Location: Alaska* not international, but far enough from Boston!

While we know this proposal isn't technically international, Ryan & Kelly's helicopter tour engagement was too magnificent not to include. After planning their trip to Alaska, Ryan decided to book a helicopter ride that would land them on top of one of the beautiful glaciers Alaska is famous for. Enjoying the ride, breathtaking views, and glacial water, Ryan popped the question while taking the last of their photos. With the Pilot's help, they captured the entire proposal on camera and took some fantastic photos. One of our favorites! Taking a flight (whether it's a plane or a helicopter) is a great way to make the day even more special.
