4 Tips For Creating A Fashionable Stack Of Bands

One of the hottest jewelry trends right now is wearing multiple anniversary bands on one finger to create a stack. If you've ever seen someone pull off the look, you know that it is a fun and trendy way to wear rings. The only downside is that if you don't know how to select a stack of rings that work together, it can look a little disjointed.

When it comes to creating a stack of rings, having a group with diverse characteristics is always a great choice. Just look at the picture above: the four rings featured are all drastically different, yet when they are grouped with each other, the stack looks great. As an added benefit, having a diverse group to choose from will give you more options if you want to wear a ring that will match with another piece of jewelry. To select diverse rings that are sure to make a great looking stack, keep the following tips in mind:

1) Select multiple types of metal

The easiest way to get some variation between your rings is to include different types of metal. When I say this, I don't mean you should make a stack out of white gold and platinum. Try throwing in some yellow or rose gold and give your stack a few different colors. This will make it clear upon first glance that you're wearing a stack of unique rings.

In the photo above we included platinum rings at the beginning and end of the stack with one rose gold ring and one yellow gold ring in between. By sandwiching the two colored rings between the white ones, we were able to add a lot of color but still kept a structured look to the stack.

2) Don't just stick to one type of setting

There are tons of different ways to set a diamond into a ring, and each one has a unique look. When picking rings for your stack, sticking to just one type of setting can cause the rings to look too similar. In some cases, the rings can look so similar that people may even mistake them for being one ring.

If you have rings that use the same setting, avoid wearing them next to each other. This will help to distinguish the rings from one another and give you the diverse look we're going for. In the example above, you can see how having different settings adds an extra level of diversity to your stack.

3) Pick a ring or two that have unique designs

Adding a ring or two with a unique design will add a touch of personality to your stack and give it a fun look. Many people will try to find rings that sit flush next to each other, and as a result will avoid rings that have unique designs. Although there are benefits to having rings that sit flush, separating your rings with a unique design helps to define the individual rings within the stack.

In the stack we made above, the second ring from the bottom is our ring with a unique design. As you can see, this ring does a great job at exposing some skin and making the stack look more spread out. This allows you to clearly recognize each ring as an individual ring and examine them more easily.

4) Include diamonds of different sizes and cuts

Having diamonds of different sizes and cuts is a great way to add even more diversity to your stack. The different shapes will cause the light to reflect differently, and the combination of the different sparkles is sure to catch peoples attention.

When picking the diamonds you will have in your rings, it's good to keep in mind that smaller diamonds sparkle more, but larger stones have a deeper more colorful sparkle. Also you should consider how different diamond cuts reflect light. A baguette cut, for example, can add a unique look to a ring, but it won't shine as bright as a round brilliant diamond.

In the stack featured above, we included rings with large and small round brilliant diamonds as well as a ring with emerald cut diamonds. You may not be able to see it in the picture, but you can take my word that when the light hit the stack it looked amazing.
