A Long's Proposal Story: Ivanna & David

How did the two of you meet?

"David and I met through a mutual friend back in February 2015 and the rest was history! I’d like to say it was love at first sight."

How did he propose?

"After 6 months of dating, David asked me to move from NYC to Boston to be with him. Since I’m not familiar with New England, we try to take trips exploring the many cities it has to offer. We've been to Nantucket, Connecticut, Newport, and New Hampshire, so it was only right we’d do Martha’s Vineyard for the 4th of July weekend. Dave and I love fashion (Christian Louboutin shoes especially) so he decided to not only get me a ring, but use the shoes to propose.

We checked into the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown on July 3rd. Once we got to our room, David ran out saying he had to get something from the car. He came back with four boxes wrapped and numbered. Box number one was a bottle of 1942 tequila because he knows I love tequila so much. Box number two was the shoes! As I took the left shoe out, I turned it over and the bottom read, “For my tiny dancer, I love you!” Then I took the right shoe out, and it said, “Will you marry me?” Not realizing the shoe had the ring tied to it in a tiny baggie, I yelled, 'Of course I’ll marry you!' David grabbed the shoe from me, took the ring out, got down on one knee, and asked those magical four words every girl in love wants to hear.

Box number three was a bottle of Dom Perignon to celebrate, and box number four was a special card from Long's. I had no clue he had planned the engagement for this weekend. We had gone to Long's a few times to look at rings, and to purchase his watches (he loves Rolex), and each time I saw the ring I just knew it was the one and so did he. After he proposed, we went to dinner, and he told me all about keeping the secret and how it killed him to hold it in. He told me how he had this planned for months, spoke with my mom and dad, and how he worked with Kirk from Long's Jewelers in Burlington to pick out every stone. Incredible!'"
