Jewelry has come a long way from its simple beginnings. From simple beads made from shells all the way through modern day pieces, one thing that has always inspired the designs of jewelry is nature.

One of nature's most inspiring subjects, animals, have been a reoccurring motif in jewelry history. Their natural beauty and unique traits have inspired countless pieces from every time period.

Recently, vintage animal themed jewelry has seen a surge in popularity. Noticing this, our estate department decided to let the animal pieces inspire some art of their own. Take a look at some of our favorite animal estate jewelry in it's natural habitat, and continue reading to see each of the pieces individually!

Estate Animal Pieces Jungle

Insects:

During the late 19th century, artists were fascinated by the natural world and designed many pieces inspired by insects. These pieces spanned the late Victorian period as the early Art Nuevo and Edwardian periods.

Dragonflys, moth's, and butterflys were all common insects to feature in designs. These creepy crawlers were seen as distinctively different from the tight laced Victorian culture of the time. Take a look at our favorite insect pieces in the estate department right now!
