A Long's Proposal Story: Rachel & Eric

"Eric and I met at Boston University’s orientation in 2007 (see picture below). We became friends and eventually started dating in 2010. After graduation, we both started working in marketing for local technology companies and have been living together in South Boston since 2013.

Before we even went ring shopping, we became regular readers of the Long’s blog. Lucky for us our friend Lynelle had started working in marketing at Long’s Jewelers. Any question we had about engagement rings could be answered through the different content she was producing for their blog.

We then decided to go ring shopping in January and had an amazing experience. Matt, a manager at the Boston store, knows more about diamonds than anyone! He explained every detail to us, answered all of our questions, and even shared his own experience.

Anyone who knows me, knows I am obsessed with dogs...especially Eric. So it was only fitting that he surprise me with one for the proposal. Eric had arranged for a close friend of mine and fellow BU alum to schedule dinner with me one night at my favorite restaurant from college. When we arrived, she suggested we take advantage of the new spring weather and take a stroll down memory lane past BU’s College of Communication. As we walked by, I saw Eric waiting in the spot we met with the cutest puppy I’ve ever seen. I was shocked even before he got down on one knee and proposed. My friend proceeded to take a ton of pictures. 

We named the puppy Milo, and he has quickly become a neighborhood celebrity.

We are now deep in planning for our 2017 wedding and loving every minute of it."
