A Long's Proposal Story: Katelyn & Matthew Author Long's Jewelers Share Facebook Share on Facebook Email Email Date Feb 15, 2021 Engagement A Long's Proposal Story: Katelyn & Matthew This is one of the most beautiful proposals we've ever seen! Not only do the pictures look stunning (kudos to Annmarie Swift Photography), but Katelyn also happened to be wearing a "wedding" inspired dress. How perfect! Thank you so much for sharing your proposal story with us, Katelyn. Read all about her special moment: How did you meet? "Through mutual friends in early high school." What is the story of your proposal?"Matthew and I began shopping for rings together about six months ago. I changed my mind a few times but fell in love with the oval halo setting when I finally tried it on. We had been working with Bob and Elise, who were beyond wonderful, so I knew it would be perfect. Matt and I were fortunate to have done two other photoshoots with Annmarie Swift, an incredible Boston based wedding photographer, so when she emailed me to ask if we would do another shoot, I didn't think twice. She presented it as a "styled anniversary shoot" and wanted to do it at the MFA in Boston. She even asked if we would bring our dog Sam! Annmarie and I went back and fourth to find the perfect dress that wasn't "too" bridal and decided on a romantic blush pink tulle dress with pastel sequin embroidery. The morning of the shoot I went to go get my nails done with a girlfriend of mine (my idea), and at one point we joked that maybe Matt would propose. We got ready and headed into the city, prepared to brave the elements - it was freezing!! We arrived at the MFA just before 3:00 PM and started shooting shortly after. It was about 10 minutes into the shoot when Annmarie said "I want to get photos of just you in the dress"... or at least that's how I remember it. She said to stand still and just look at the column behind her. A few seconds later she told me to turn around and throw my arms around Matt. I was overwhelmed with happiness when I turned around to see Matthew down on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring I had ever seen, asking me to spend forever with him. And of course I said YES! We shot a few more photos before heading back to the car to warm up a bit. After regaining feeling in our hands and feet, we headed back over to the front of the museum for a few more photos. We shot for maybe 10 or so more minutes before calling it quits due to how cold it was. We parted ways with Annmarie and headed home. When we arrived back to our house, I opened the door to find red and pink rose petals on the ground leading to our bedroom, rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed, a bottle of champagne on ice, chocolates, more roses and a very special piece of artwork - a handmade wooden sign that reads "Katie & Matt 01/23/2016" that Matt had made that week. Fast forward to dinner, which we had made reservations to celebrate Matt's birthday. We were lead to the back of the restaurant where both of our families were waiting to surprise us. The amount of planning, time, effort and thought put into making this proposal so special is just incredible. I am the happiest and luckiest girl. Huge thank you to everyone at Longs - Bob, Elise, everyone... you are wonderful. The perfect ring, the perfect day, the perfect fiancé!" And your stunning ring from Long's?
