Each year we look forward to seeing which styles and trends are on top, and 2018 is shaping up to be a great year! Minimalist styles, with the focus on a center stone, will definitely continue to be big. Whether it's oval, cushion, or round, we are loving simple settings with amazing stones. Color will also play a major role in both metal and stone choice. We're seeing a lot of rose gold and sapphires in the future! Looking for the perfect ring? Read on to learn about our top predictions for 2018 engagement ring trends!

1. Simple Solitaires

The saying “less is more” is right on the money when talking about today’s engagement rings. Minimalist designs will continue to be big in 2018. We’re seeing a lot of simple solitaires in the future. You just can’t beat this classic and timeless design. We love solitaires with plain bands, in platinum, white or yellow gold, that put the emphasis solely on the diamond as well as diamond bands for that extra sparkle!

Our Simple Solitaire Picks:

Featured: Platinum Four Prong Solitaire Diamond Engagement Ring ($1,000, center stone sold separately), Platinum Four Prong Ten Stone Diamond Engagement Ring ($975, center stone sold separately), 18k Yellow Gold Round 4-Prong Solitaire Engagement Ring by Precision Set ($925, center stone sold separately)

2. Ovals

While round cut diamonds still reign number one, ovals are slowly catching up! This elegant shape has a classic feel to it, but with a slight twist to make your diamond stand out in the crowd. We love how unique and clean they look (plus bonus, the elongated shape makes your fingers look long and thin!). Ovals look great either with or without halos. Also consider going out of the box with an east-west setting!

Our Oval Shaped Diamond Picks:

Featured: 18k White Gold Oval Diamond Halo Engagement Ring by Precision Set ($2,295, center stone sold separately), Classic Oval Halo Diamond Engagement Ring by Sylvie ($2,750, center stone sold separately), Platinum Oval Deco Diamond Engagement Ring with Milgrain by Jack Kelége ($5,900, center stone sold separately)

3. Rose Gold

Rose gold is huge right now and will continue to be big in 2018! The blush color looks good on any skin tone and has a lovely feminine feel to it that we love. Many are seeing this as a unique alternative to the ever-popular platinum or white gold. If full rose gold isn’t for you, consider accents of it either around the center diamond or just on the band.

Our Rose Gold Picks:

Featured: 18k Rose Gold & Platinum Round Diamond Halo Engagement Ring by Mark Patterson ($2,190, center stone sold separately), 18k White & Rose Gold Two Row Double Prong Diamond Engagement Ring by Jack Kelége (4.750, center stone sold separately), 18k Rose Gold Shared Prong Engagement Ring by Precision Set ($1,500, center stone sold separately), Criss Cross Rose and White Gold Halo Diamond Engagement Ring by Sylvie ($2,150, center stone sold separately)

4. Vintage Inspired

The past few years have seen a heavy resurgence in all things vintage, and engagement rings are no exception. Vintage designs from Art Deco to Victorian have a romantic feeling to them making these rings a popular choice for a proposal. Their old world charm is captivating. Plus, we love how detailed these designs are! While vintage may be trendy, it is a style that is proven to last a lifetime.

Our Vintage Inspired Picks:

Featured: Platinum Antique Designed Diamond Engagement Ring by Sylvie ($2,450, center stone sold separately), 18k White Gold Vintage Bezel Diamond Engagement Ring by Sylvie ($3,600, center stone sold separately), 18k White Gold Vintage Diamond Halo Engagement Ring by Sylvie ($2,450, center stone sold separately)

5. Cushions

A throwback to old Hollywood glamour, the cushion cut has become increasing popular as the diamond shape of choice. Somewhere between a round and princess cut, the cushion still has a classic feel to it without being too out of the box. We’ll be seeing this shape a lot next year, especially paired with a halo!

Our Cushion Shaped Diamond Picks:

Featured: Vintage Cushion Cut Diamond Engagement Ring by Sylvie ($2,700, center stone sold separately), Platinum Cushion Pave Diamond Halo Engagement Ring by Mark Patterson ($7,590, center stone sold separately), Unique Cushion Cut Halo Diamond Engagement Ring by Sylvie ($2,100, center stone sold separately), 18k White Gold Cushion Cut Diamond Halo Engagement Ring by Henri Daussi ($6,600)

6. Sapphires

This royal trend is making it big in 2018. While diamonds may still be the standard, we are loving the alternative stone trend right now, especially sapphires! The classy, blue stone is the perfect choice if you’re looking to add a little color to your engagement ring. Make it your center stone or add some sapphire side stones to accent a center diamond.

Our Sapphire Engagement Ring Picks:

Featured: 18k White Gold Sapphire and Diamond Three Stone Engagement Ring ($7,500), 18k White Gold Three-Stone Diamond and Blue Sapphire Engagement Ring by Sylvie ($2,750, center stone sold separately)
