A Long's Proposal Story: Becca & Dan

The view from the top turned out to be better than she could have dreamed! Read on to see how Dan surprised Becca with her stunning, new ring on a hike in Maine. On behalf of the entire Long's team, congratulations and best of luck.

How did the two of you meet?

"Dan and I met back during our college years. Our circle of friends from our hometowns had mixed, and over the next few years, we ran into each other often, but just as friends. In 2017, we went on our first official date, as they say, the rest is history!"

How did he propose?

"The first week of August every year we go on a camping trip in Maine with Dan’s family. This trip started just like the others. The second morning we got up, made breakfast, and headed out for a hike with Dan’s parents. It is a short little hike, but at the top there are spectacular views of Shawnee Peak and Mount Washington in the distance. When we got to the top, I grabbed my camera and ran off to take some photos. I was oblivious to the fact that Dan was trying to get my attention. After a few minutes, he finally pulled me in for a picture. It was at this moment I knew something was about to happen! His parents were able to capture the whole thing on video, although you can’t hear anything over my sobbing, happy tears."

Tell us about the engagement ring!

"My mom, Linda, is the manager of the Long’s Braintree location. My mom and Dan came together to create a perfect ring for me. This ring is even better than I would have ever dreamed it to be. The center diamond is the stone with which my dad proposed to my mom. The diamonds in the band come from Dan’s grandmother's watch. I adore knowing my ring is a symbol of both our families coming together."
