A Long's Proposal Story: Kelly & Chris

How did the two of you meet?

"We were set up by Chris’s cousin after we both went to a Justin Timberlake concert a day apart. I went with Chris’s cousin Ami to the concert and on the way, she told me all about her cousin Chris and how he went to the concert the night before. She told me that I were perfect for each other and that I should “date him!” The rest is history after a 4-hour first date at Steel & Rye a few weeks later."

How did he propose?

"All this past winter, Chris had been dying to get away on vacation, so he booked a trip for us to go to Ocean Reef Club for April vacation. On our first full day there, we had our new member orientation in the morning and during our tour, the membership advisor told us about a “new member” lunch that they were hosting that day. This did not sound too exciting to me as I was excited to just relax with Chris by the pool all afternoon. He managed to pull me away from the pool and it turns out that Chris had set it all up and there were no new members there. Once we walked out there he proposed to me at the end of the jetty called “The Point” and we had an amazing lunch afterwards. He had the whole area closed so we were able to spend the afternoon there together."

Tell us about the engagement ring!

"Chris went to the Boston location of Long’s back in March to custom design an engagement ring. It is a 3 carat round brilliant diamond with a hidden halo and a .38 carat platinum pave setting."
