Long’s is looking to fill the following full-time positions:
Store Manager /Assistant Manager
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the operations of the store from top to bottom
- Managing the sales of the store, which includes personally selling to customers AND managing the sales staff by making sure the right person is waiting on the right customer, getting involved to help close sales, etc.
- Making sure the customer service levels in the store are excellent and getting involved in any potential customer service issue.
- Making sure your staff is cross trained in systems and product knowledge
- Knowing all security and other corporate policies and procedures, and ensuring your staff follows them daily.
- Being responsible for all inventory controls in your store
- Maintain a clean, beautiful store and manage visual merchandising on a daily basis.
- Setting the schedule for your store’s staff and controlling all store expenses
- Managing the repair activity of the store and the workload of the store’s bench jeweler
- Overseeing the clienteling efforts of the sales staff including collecting customer information, managing your staff to reach out to existing and prospective customers
- Act as liaison between your store and corporate – communicating all messages from corporate and providing feedback to corporate on personnel, product mix, marketing, etc.
- Get involved in your store’s local community (charities, local business groups, etc.
Qualifications:
- Have a passion for jewelry and luxury products
- Multiple years of experience in retail sales and retail store management, preferably jewelry or a similar luxury product or service.
- Great way with people and an ability to communicate and keep a level head at all times.
- Have a great work ethic, team attitude and a hands on, roll your sleeves up approach
Jewelry Buyer
Responsibilities include:
- Purchasing of designer and non-branded jewelry for all Long’s stores, including basic replenishment programs and new style introductions.
- Work within open to buy budgets, analyzing performance by item, category, supplier and store.
- Continuously stock balancing between stores and returning underperforming product
- Develop and manage merchandise programs to reach successful levels of productivity including inventory turn, mark up/down, gross margin, stock and sales ratios
- Help organize product training for all store personnel
- Communicate with store management and store personnel to get feedback on existing stock and new, potential product introductions
- Build and grow relationships with vendors.
We expect candidates to:
- Have a passion for jewelry, great taste and a real feel for trends in style
- Have an analytical approach to managing inventory through inventory control system, spreadsheet management, report running, etc.
- Have a great work ethic, team attitude and a hands on, roll your sleeves up approach
- Work very well with others and have solid communication skills to be used with vendors, store management, store personnel, etc.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in the buying field, preferably for jewelry, luxury or designer products.
- Experience with merchandise analysis including strong skills with Excel and running reports.
