Baselworld 2015: Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master ReviewBaselworld is right around the corner! We wait all year for this event where some of the largest brands in the industry announce their latest and greated products.

This year, Baselworld takes place March 19th-26th. We are already looking forward to the event after seeing some of the new timepieces that have already been announced.

One of the most exciting releases so far has been Rolex's new Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master. Make sure you are in the know. Here is more information about Rolex's iconic line and the new features of this new 2015 version:

Rolex Yacht-Master History

Since its release in 1992, the Rolex Yacht Master has been praised for its sporty and functional design. The inspiration for the line comes from sailing and is designed to survive the sports most extreme environments.

The newly released model has taken one step closer to becoming the ultimate sailing watch with the brand new Oysterflex Bracelet. This is the first time that this flexible material has been featured on a Rolex, a revolutionary change for the more traditional brand.

Meet The Oysterflex Bracelet

Timepiece to Watch: Rolex Yacht-Master

The patented Oysterflex Bracelet was developed by Rolex to have the strength of a metal strap and the flexibility of a rubber strap. How did they do this you ask? Let me explain... At the core of the strap lies a flexible titanium and nickel allow blade. This blade attaches to the watch case and oysterlock safety clasp giving the band the strength of a metal band. This flexible blade is concealed within a thick rubber layer that makes the band light weight and flexible.

Along with making the watch lighter, the band has been designed to keep the watch balanced on your wrist. It does this with a patented longitudinal cushion system that keeps the watch stabilized.

Watch Design and Functions

We love this timepiece for raising the bar for performance, and also because it has got a look of its own. The case of the watch is made out of 18 karat everose gold which beautifully contrasts the black dial. If you are not familiar with the Yacht-Master line, this is the first time that the line has featured a fully everose case or black dial.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master comes in two sizes: 40 MM and 37 MM. It contains a Calibre 3135 movement, sapphire crystal and is guaranteed waterproof up to 100 meters.
