Congratulations are in order for our newest Long's couple, Jake and Justine! This proposal story goes down in history as one of the most perfectly planned and executed surprises we've ever heard. Great job Jake! Read all about this romantic proposal story that had us all wiping away a few tears:

How did you and Justine meet?
"We met working together at a local Stop & Shop supermarket 6 years ago."

How did you end up proposing?
"I had been planning an intimate surprise proposal for several months. I convinced my fiancée Justine that we were attending a formal architecture gala at the Intercontinental Boston Hotel (where we previously celebrated our recent 6 year dating anniversary). As my fiancée can be a bit difficult to surprise, I had to plant the seed for the proposal early and created fake invitations and hyped up this event to make sure she was ready, nails and all, for a romantic evening together.

I discretely took her parents out to dinner several weeks prior to ask for their blessing. I coordinated with the hotel staff as well as a local Boston photographer to help capture the proposal. My fiancée believed I was working at my firm in the morning, but in actuality I spent the morning finalizing the special day with the hotel staff.

I arranged for my fiancée to meet me in the hotel lobby so we could walk up to the "gala" together. As she was arriving at the hotel and parking her car with the valet, I asked her to kindly check in with the concierge and he would escort her up to the function space while I was checking us in for the "gala". The concierge escorted her up, and did his best to distract from the fact that she was being escorted to a corner suite and not a function hall.

As she arrived at the suite, a bit confused about what was happening, I opened the door and took her hands as I walked her into a beautiful suite complete with a trail of rose petals and candles that meandered into the room. In the center of the suite she was surrounded by roses, candles, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and photographs of our 6 years together.

At that moment, with the photographer waiting in the room and a violin instrumental of John Legends "all of me" playing in the background, I got on one knee and asked the woman of my dreams to marry me. After the reality of the engagement set in, we made our way outside and had a beautiful photo session as we walked along the fort point channel.

I followed the proposal with dinner at Strega’s North End Restaurant (our first Valentine’s day date), where I had the chef specially make her favorite meal. We ended the evening with a romantic horse and carriage ride and a night out celebrating in Boston. The following day we had a nice couples massage as we prepared for our already planned trip to South Beach, Miami for a well deserved vacation."

And what about that gorgeous Long's ring?
"Features 1 center round brilliant cut diamond set in a platinum mounting with 5 round brilliant cut diamonds set on each side of the center stone."
