We are excited to introduce 1884 Collection to Long’s in Peabody and Natick this fall! Expected to hit stores in October, 1884 Collection will be a welcome addition to Long’s.
The 1884 Collection combines history and legend with contemporary fashion. The symbols of Rome and of its history are the inspirational force behind this new collection of jewelry. Designed by a sixth generation artist from a historic family of Roman jewelers, the collection is guided by passion and dedication, continuing the work started in 1884 by his ancestors.
Early Roman coins, aside from being used as money, relayed messages and ideas through the designs and wording etched on each coin. While today,
paper money is more valuable than coins, this has not been the case throughout history. The Roman monetary system dealt primarily with coins, and they changed names and values frequently.
They have also been mounted in jewelry throughout history, forming the centerpieces of rings, brooches, and necklaces. This fashion has continued to flourish, giving ancient coins a further lease on life as jewels. The 1884 Collection will bring you, straight from the Trevi Fountain in Rome, the time-honoring tradition of love and romance.
We can’t wait to show you the 1884 Collection collection in stores. If you have any questions leading up to the launch of 1884 Collection, don’t hesitate to email us!
